Frequently Asked Questions
Will my piercing swell up?
A small amount of swelling is normal and we will fit you with slightly longer jewellery to accommodate this, which we will downsize for free. Everyone is slightly different and some piercings may swell more than others depending on placement. Take care how you are sleeping, you can take Ibuprofen if needed but if you have prolonged swelling, pop back in to see us.
What should I do before I get pierced?
You need to have eaten 2-4 hours before getting pierced. Wear clothing that allows appropriate access to the area and be clean. For tongue piercings, pay good attention to your dental hygiene in the days before and do not smoke or drink anything except water directly before your appointment. Refrain from drinking the night before as alcohol is blood thinning. Don’t forget to bring your ID.
How long does the piercing take?
Your appointment slot allows time for you to complete our consent form and choose your jewellery. You will be called into the piercing room where the piercer will advise what’s happening and make sure you’re completely happy with the placement before piercing. The piercing itself is over in seconds and then there will be a few minutes to fit the jewellery. The piercer will give you verbal and written aftercare instructions, each anatomy and person is unique so the whole thing will take as long as it takes.
Can I bring someone with me?
You may bring one person (parent/ guardian) for moral support.
Can you pierce me with my own jewellery?
No, because we have no idea what metal it is made from and this may result in painful allergic reactions that could cause infections and/ or the body to reject the piercing. There is no guarantee it’s sterile, all our piercing jewellery is high grade, surgical grade titanium, sterilised by us in-house.

How soon can I go swimming after a new piercing?
We recommend you wait the full healing time of 3 months before you go swimming. There is too much bacteria in the water and the chemicals in a swimming pool could cause your piercing to become infected. With this in mind, it is best not to get pierced before a holiday if you plan to swim, wait until you return home.
What is the age limit for piercing?
14-16 with parental consent, 16 by yourself with photo ID and 18 for all nipples. We do not currently offer genital piercings.

Make your solution fresh every time and follow our recommended amounts of salt and water.

Do you do walk-in tattoos?
Being appointment based, we do not generally accept walk-ins! Any cancellations or availability will be posted on our socials.
Can I go swimming after my tattoo?
You will need to keep the tattoo out of any unclean water (sea, lakes, pools, etc.) and direct sunlight for a minimum of 2 weeks. A tattoo is an open wound, and if bacteria gets inside, it will become infected.
I've sent an email/message to an artist and haven't heard back yet!
Our artists are very busy people, they work through their emails from earliest to latest so nobody is kept waiting too long! If you haven’t heard back, please refrain from sending a follow up message, as this will put your message thread to the back of the queue. An average wait time to hear back is anything from 1 – 14 working days.
I think my tattoo is infected! What should I do?
Our studio is cleaned daily, and our artists sanitize their stations in between clients, as well as using only single use items when working, so infection will most likely have come from improper aftercare. If you believe that your tattoo is infected, seek the advice of a medical professional immediately.
I'm pregnant/breastfeeding - can I still get tattooed?
No, we do not tattoo pregnant or breastfeeding people. It is safer to not put the body under any unnecessary stress at these times.

We can still tattoo you, as long as it is not in an affected area. Note that inks/the process of getting tattooed may cause a flare up.
Can I use numbing cream before my tattoo?
Always message your artist beforehand regarding numbing cream, some artists prefer not to work with it! Note that numbing cream should be applied approximately 2 hours before the tattoo, and wrapped with cling film to prevent air getting in – it can be taken off at the start of the appointment.
I want to get some scars covered! Can I?
Scar cover ups require a consultation as we would need to make sure they are fully healed/ the best way to cover them.
Do you use Latex gloves?
We have both latex and nitrile (for those with latex allergies) gloves at our studio, and are careful to ensure we’re using what’s best for you.
When do you decline a tattoo?
We will NOT tattoo you if:

What should i wear to my tattoo appointment?
We ask that you wear something that will give our artists easy access to the area, e.g. shorts/skirt for leg tattoos, flip flops for foot tattoos, short sleeves for arm tattoos, etc. We will provide nipple covers in cases where all upper clothing has to be removed and have screens that we can put up for your privacy.
How much is a sleeve/backpiece?
Prices of sleeves / backpieces depend entirely on what style you’re getting, how many sessions you will need, the intricacy of the design, the artist you go to, etc. Larger projects require consultations with artists.
How do I look after my tattoo?
Each artist has different aftercare that they will recommend! At the end of the appointment, your artists will talk you through the aftercare they’d like for you to use.
I want to cover up an old tattoo I don't want anymore
Cover up enquiries will either require laser removal to lighten it or a consultation with the artist. In order for a tattoo to be covered, the new tattoo has to be darker than the original. Laser removal is a lot more affordable in recent years, and creates opportunities to get something you’ll be happy with, not just a compromise.
How do I pay for my tattoo? Cash or card?
All tattoos should be paid for in cash! We can direct you to the nearest ATM if needed.
Can I shave after my leg tattoo?
You will want to avoid the tattooed area completely (shaving around it is fine), until all of the scabbiness has left and it has healed. Razors carry a lot of bacteria which would cause infection.
How can I book in for my tattoo?
You can either send us a message on our Instagram via email. We will need to know:
- The size in centimetres
- The placement
- The style you’re after
- A general description of what you’d like
- Reference pictures (these always help to keep you and the artist on the same page!)
How do I prepare for my tattoo?
- Make sure you’re well rested
- Make sure you’ve eaten beforehand
- Make sure you’re hydrated
- Keep a good level of hygiene!
- No need to shave! Our artist will do it for you (this will stop razor burn from affecting the tattoo)
- Wear something that gives our artist access to the are they’re going to tattoo
- Bring cash to your appointment
